Two Countries, One Atmosphere.

Welcome to Poetry Friday. Today we are hosted by poet, Jill Dailey. She is a librarian and a mixed media artist, so wears many hats. I’m looking forward to what she shares this week. Thank you, Jill, for hosting.

I so enjoyed posting and reading posts last weekend. I missed hearing from PF friends. I’d taken a break and missed your poems and art. I did manage to write a poem this week to the contest on Renee Latulippe’s website. There is still time left if you have a travel-themed poem for kids.

This week is hazy here in Syracuse with poor air quality from Canadian wild fires. So I’ve been not going out much. I hope the fires end soon. The smoke must be much worse in Ontario.

two countries' shared plight.

It’s easy and important to appreciate how we share an environment and a future with Canada. I hope people are safe there.

Being indoors all day, I did some painting. This looks like it’s California inspired, but it’s a practice piece from an art book, a tutorial. It turned out better than the first time I tried it.

This painting seems an obvious metaphor for our country. Well, you can see what I mean.

Here’s another picture from another walk in Green Lakes State Park. We happened upon heron being admired by several kids in a canoe.

Have a great weekend, everyone! Thanks, Buffy, for hosting.

  1. I like “two countries’ shared plight.” The air knows no borders. Congrats on writing a poem for Renee’s contest! Whether or not you win, I’m glad you put pen to paper 🙂
