WE BELONG, by Laura Purdie Salas, Revisited

Welcome to Poetry Friday! This week we are hosted by Margaret HERE. She is always ready with a post that inspires readers, and special thanks to her for organizing the Progressive Poem that gets more intriguing every week.

This week I ask that you please scroll down and click on the title of my last week’s post, featuring WE BELONG, a fabulous new picture book by Laura Purdie Salas, Illustrated by Carlos Vélez Aguilera.

I was slow last week getting my on-line link in the line up, so I’m posting it again. My apologies! But this book that is relevant and I want to make sure it isn’t missed.

Thank you, Margaret, for hosting this week!

  1. Janice, I couldn’t agree MORE with you. This book is light and refreshing AND vital. I’ve already cataloged it into my middle school library. Thank you for reviewing it.

  2. I am so glad that you asked us to scroll down to last week’s post since I missed reading it. I not only read the post but commented there as well as here. We Belong is an wonderful book that focuses on an important message.

  3. WE BELONG is beautiful. I will put it on my list to buy and GIFT… for those who need to hear it, and for those who think they don’t! Thank you, Laura!

  4. Thanks for sharing Janice! I really enjoyed the lines you shared from We Belong. With my day job in tech, DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion) are big topics with a lot of energy around them. Recently, B showed up at the end (DEIB). B = Belonging. Understanding and Knowing you belong is so powerful. Thank you for sharing! –Tim
